Work paths and actions

The manufacturing strategic agenda is working on these concrete work paths:

Work paths inspired by circular strategies

  1. Encourage circular business models and new forms of collaboration in the chain;
  2. Embed circular design in the operations of companies - through the development of design knowledge and materials with knowledge institutions, development of appropriate skills and provision of appropriate tools and methodologies;
  3. Enabling life extension through repairing, reusing, remaking, renting and borrowing, encouraging shared use, longer use of products & components; Highlighting added value of repairing and remaking;
  4. Highlighting the added value of repairing and remaking;
  5. Continue to focus on better selective collection and high-quality closure of material cycles (and promote use of recyclate in the manufacturing industry)

Work paths grafted on to drive transition

  1. Deploy customised jobs and skills focused on the circular transition;
  2. Exploit the added value that social economy as a whole and customised businesses in particular have for anchoring activities in the circular manufacturing industry;
  3. Stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the circular economy by making innovation financing and mentoring available, both for large companies, SMEs and start-ups;
  4. Facilitate access to financing solutions (standard or tailor-made) for manufacturing companies starting, scaling or internationalising circularly;
  5. Encourage structural circular procurement, both in the private and public sectors, to create a stable market demand for circular solutions;
  6. Research and develop digital tools for circular entrepreneurship and technological innovation for circular challenges;
  7. Monitor and organise social inclusion within the circular economy;
  8. Further develop quantifying and monitoring the impact of implementing circular strategies in the manufacturing industry.
