MOLWOL

Sleeping lovely and honestly under wool

MOLWOL, that's delicious but also honest sleeping under wool from the Kempen region. The wool comes from the sheep of KEMP vzw: a nomadic, service-oriented agricultural company with a sustainable mission. To produce the pillows and duvets, they work together with Lidwina vzw, where people with a distance to the labour market are employed. So you can sleep on both ears!

MOLWOL is an initiative of KEMP vzw, which wants to show that wool is more than a residual product of sheared sheep. The pillows and duvets are the best proof of this: high-quality, sustainable and locally made. Blissful sleep guaranteed. The wool comes from the sheep of KEMP vzw, which uses the sheep to manage nature in an age-old way.

No fewer than 2,000 sheep are currently grazing in various Kempish nature reserves, on the heathland, along canals, at the Turnhout city farm and on some business estates. The sheep eat the grasses and saplings that take over, giving other plants and herbs back the chance to germinate, grow and flourish. The flocks are thus also a natural seed machine via manure, wool and paws, which only makes the landscape more species-rich. The flowers and herbs attract various insects, which in turn provide more birds, amphibians and small mammals.

Around 15 June, the sheep are professionally sheared. The highest-quality wool goes to tailoring company Lidwina vzw, which reprocesses the wool into pillows and quilts. The talents and qualities of employees with a distance to the labour market are put to full use there. And all that positive energy just goes straight into those pillows and duvets!
