Dressr is a Belgian rental platform for clothing and accessories. Renting can be done in two ways: one-off rentals for a special occasion or a subscription that keeps your wardrobe up-to-date without impacting the environment. Laundry and shipping costs are included in both formulas. Recently, with Dresser's help, fashion brands can also offer their collection for rent on their own websites.
The textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world. Its production has a major impact on the environment and available raw materials while tonnes of clothes and accessories disappear into landfills due to the rise of fast-fashion. The social impact of production cannot be underestimated either.
Caroline Baeten therefore founded Dressr, a rental platform for clothing, sunglasses, handbags and jewellery. There are two ways to rent clothes: you rent a one-off piece for a special occasion or you take out a subscription where you can rent several pieces at once. In both cases, the clothes are sent to you and the package comes with a voucher you can use to return the clothes at the end of the rental period. Having trouble parting with it anyway? Then you can buy your favourite pieces and the rental price will be deducted in case of one-off rentals. Another asset of Dressr: all brands featured on the website are Belgian.
It has recently become possible for fashion brands to rent out their collection through their own website. Thanks to the real-time integration between the webshop and Dressr, customers immediately see which sizes and colours are available and the rental company does not have to worry about administration and logistics.
Every Wednesday, the showroom in Mortsel (Antwerp) is open from 1pm to 5pm, so the team can help pick out the right pieces on the spot.
