De Stoffeerder

Making your company's couches, seats, armchairs and office chairs like new again

A sofa with emotional value? Antique furniture from your (grand)parents? Office furniture that has seen better days? You don't have to throw them away when they’re worn out. De Stoffeerder gives them a new life by reupholstering and refilling them.

Reupholstered furniture lasts another 15 years or more
Worn-out sofas and office chairs: they are almost always thrown away and destroyed. But that’s not necessary at all. A new fabric, new leather, and/or new filling is often all it takes to make them last easily another 15 years. Since 1966, De Stoffeerder has specialized in the restoration and reupholstery of furniture and has built a reputation known far beyond Belgium.

Budget-friendly from old to new
CEO Sven Van der Straeten: “New seating and office chairs almost always change the atmosphere and character of your business because new models often look nothing like your old ones. By having them reupholstered and/or refilled, you don’t have to waste time searching for the perfect new furniture. This way, you give your old furniture the same look again or the look you have in mind but can’t find anywhere. Even your cheap furniture, which you originally bought to save money, can get a serious upgrade by covering it with high-quality fabric or leather. And all that without spending thousands of euros.”

Advice on the right fabric and filling
“It doesn’t matter what the sofas and armchairs in your lobby or lounge, your office chairs, or the benches in your waiting area, cafeteria, or restaurant look like. Even if the upholstery and filling are damaged. We’ll turn them into new again. Together with the companies that contact us, we choose the fabric, leather, or faux leather. And because it’s important that the upholstery has the right properties, we visit the site to assess the situation and give advice.”
“How should the upholstery resist wear and tear? Should we treat it with a stain-repellent product? Or upholster the furniture with a stain-repellent fabric? Is the furniture in direct sunlight? Will it be used decoratively, lightly, or intensively? Maybe we only need to replace the filling and a few pieces of damaged leather because the filling has been compressed from sitting on it?”

Preserving the wooden or metal frame
“During reupholstery, we make sure the wooden or metal structure of the furniture remains intact. Has the wood already come loose or been damaged? Then we glue the parts back together and renew the elements you don’t see. And after reupholstering, we redecorate every space with the refurbished furniture.”

And a final tip: do you have acoustic panels in your space or company that need an update or a new design? De Stoffeerder also reupholsters those with fabric, felt, leather, or other materials.
