About our management
Who steers what at Flanders Circular?
At the Circular Materials Center in Kortrijk, companies, trainees and job seekers can address all their questions and plans for doing circular business in the textile industry. The Circular Materials Center opened its doors in 2020. The research and training center for the textile and plastics sector focuses on rethinking material use. Here, companies, research institutions and creative thinkers work together on sustainable solutions to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.
The center develops innovative techniques and processes to reuse raw materials, minimize waste and design new, environmentally friendly materials. It gives partners access to cutting-edge infrastructure and facilitates experimental research and training. It thus aims to be an inspiring meeting place, where knowledge exchange and collaboration are central.
Circular Materials Center collaborates with the West Flanders New Materials cluster and numerous international partners. By combining all this knowledge, companies can make use of one unique research chain. This can be used for applied research, during the full cycle of the production process and can be scaled up or down depending on the size of the project. The strong link with industry also allows the center to tailor training offerings to what companies need. Food for thought!
