Robin Food

Soups, sauces and juices with a mission

We are all for less food wastage. And let that be exactly what Robin Food and partners realise. They process fruit and vegetables that would otherwise end up in the dustbin into delicious soups, juices and sauces and, recently, a courgette jam. Healthy and tasty food that is at the same time affordable for everyone.

Healthy and tasty food for everyone

With their initiative, Robin Food wants to make healthy food affordable for people with the lowest incomes. That is why they sell their tasty and healthy products in convenience stores, and at solidarity grocery shops at heavily discounted prices. But you can also find Robin Food's tasty products in regular shops. With the profit from regular sales, they can keep prices at the solidarity grocery shop as low as possible. And occasionally we deliver soup to schools, which they can then distribute free of charge to their students.

Bespoke farms

The rescued fruit and vegetables are processed at bespoke companies. These include Brussels-based Harvie (formerly Envie), which makes flavourful soups and sauces from surplus fruit and vegetable auctions. Another partner is social farm De Wroeter in Limburg. From the 'ugly' apples from their own orchard, they squeeze delicious apple juice. The 'courgette saved' jam, Robin Food's very latest product, comes from organic farm and social workshop Den Diepen Boomgaard in Grimbergen and is deliciously fresh and tangy. It makes you want more!

Circular food hub Robin Food Foodsavers

Recently, Robin Food products have been distributed via the Circular Food Hub Robin Food Foodsavers Flemish Brabant. You can find the hub on the Leuvensesteenweg in Boutersem: a large shed on an industrial estate, where SAAMO Vlaams-Brabant collects food surpluses from retail and redistributes them from there to social organisations and municipalities that donate food to vulnerable groups. Once again, we thus connect the 2 challenges: the excess of food surpluses and too many people who have too little access to healthy food.
