Bear Creations, Wood from Here

From tree to bench or plank

Did you ever see a sawmill on wheels drive by? If so, Dennis Van de Peer of Hout van Hier was probably at the wheel. With his mobile sawmill he drives to your home to saw felled trees into sustainable wood products.

From tree to building material
Most fallen trees are sawn into firewood and eventually end up in the stove. Unless you call Dennis: he gives fallen or destroyed trees in your garden a second life. For example, he saws tree trunks into log planks, beams or roof and gable trim. With these he makes new structures, such as wooden benches, tables and bridges. Preferably on site himself, so he does not have to transport the wooden building materials.

Timber from local building sites and forests
The mobile sawmill also stops at cleared building sites or sustainably managed forests. To do so, Wood from Here works with local arborists. The company collects the felled wood locally, processes it and then brings it to custom woodworking company A-kwadraat. There, people with a distance to the labor market turn it into parquet, shelves and cladding.

Nothing goes to waste
No piece of wood goes to waste. Branches or small wood stumps? Dennis transforms those into wooden bowls, bowls or vases. Or he saws them into smaller pieces, such as spoons and Scandinavian mugs. The saw scraps are cut to length into firewood. And the sawdust can be used in the vegetable garden or as a substrate to grow edible mushrooms.
