OpenStructures

Shared standards as a key to sustainable design

OpenStructures (OS) is a design methodology for open modular and cooperative construction. It facilitates circular material flows and simplifies the repair and reuse of components.

By anticipating and integrating future adjustment(s) into the DNA of the building components during the design phase, OS generates objects that can be adapted and repaired indefinitely and widely interchangeable parts.

This project specifically focusses on the dissemination and embedding of this methodology in Flanders, with specially developed workshop kits and formulas, the training of supervisors and the cooperation with four local partners.
